Summer Lovin'

Summer time at our house means the best excuse every to be outside...every day, all day! Especially if water is involved. Or grilling.

This summer has looked a little less like "summer" for us, as morning sickness  all day sickness has kept us inside out of the heat. And when it comes to eating, my acceptable foods are usually pretty limited. But grilling still seems to be a good option to feed the family -- hubby can do it up real quick and I can usually eat most of the side options (read all the unhealthy things -- like potato salad!).

So while this summer grilling will probably happen as often as it does in the winter for us, we have still taken advantage of getting our food from outdoors-- just not as much as in past summers. Hopefully that will change soon, as I'm almost 13 weeks and this can't last all pregnancy AGAIN like it did with Christian, can it???

Christian even has taken to grilling this year! He is a little imitator and LOVES to do what mommy, daddy, grandpa, or any grown up for that matter...is doing! Grandpa got him his own little grill set for his 2nd Birthday this year and its been getting lots of us both indoors and out!

Luckily for us, though, we have some awesome grilling tools for our grown up grill that make grilling even more enjoyable....besides drinking that "Grillmaster" coke while grilling that is :) We love our Cave Tools Grilling Set -- it comes with tongs which are great for hot dogs and even chicken breasts or burgers. But if you prefer, which you probably will, there is an awesome flipper  that even has a serrated edge which is great for cutting into your meat to check if its done, all with one utensil. The BBQ fork is one of the less used utensils for us any way, but it looks nice and pokey and matches nicely with the rest of the set shall the day arise when you need to use one!

The only downside to these utensils is they seem a little shorter than the average. A little more length would be nice, however, not necessarily necessary either. this length is much more manageable.

Christian seems quite satisfied with his own plastic grilling set, however, he  has tried to swipe up the Cave Tools Tongs a time or two! They even appeal to the toddler eye...or toddler imitator!

Serrated Edge

Hopefully we can get even more use out of the grilling set this winter once baby comes....because grilling doesn't stop in Minnesota just because the snow comes. And grilling will continue to be an easy option for hubby while I'm busy nursing a newborn come February!

You can buy your own Cave Tools Grill Set here or on amazon.
With wedding season in full swing, this would make a great wedding gift! Or even birthday present for the dads in your life...or if you're like me, maybe you are already thinking about Christmas presents!
